IJUMAA TAREHE 27 AGOSTI 2021, ASUBUHI
Yakobo 4:13-17
13 Haya basi, ninyi msemao, Leo au kesho tutaingia katika mji fulani na kukaa humo mwaka mzima, na kufanya biashara na kupata faida;
14 walakini hamjui yatakayokuwako kesho.
Matumizi ya ulimi;
Usiruhusu ulimi wako utumike kumkosea Mungu.
Ijumaa njema.
FRIDAY 27TH AUGUST 2021, MORNING
JAMES 4:13-17
Boasting About Tomorrow
13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Use of the tongue;
James writes about pride. He writes about those who plan for tomorrow as if they will be able to do what they want in their own strength, and not with God's help. He condemns such pride, saying that it is wrong to boast.
-Here we are reminded that all our plans must be made by putting God first. We can do nothing without His help, for we are like steam. Anything we do without God's help is in vain.
-If we plan and do it ourselves, again with pride is not only vanity, but with pride we have misused our tongues. Do not let your tongue be used against God.
Good Friday.
