1 Corinthians 14:1-5 New International Version (NIV)

Intelligibility in Worship

1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. 2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[b]but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues,[c] unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

Pray that God would give you wisdom to teach others His word. Pray that your message would be clear so that people can understand your message and grow in faith. Speaking in unknown tongues is mainly to be used to worship God in private and not in public services.

1 KORINTHO 14:1-5

1 Ufuateni upendo, na kutaka sana karama za rohoni, lakini zaidi kwamba mpate kuhutubu. 
2 Maana yeye anenaye kwa lugha, hasemi na watu, bali husema na Mungu; maana hakuna asikiaye; lakini anena mambo ya siri katika roho yake. 
3 Bali yeye ahutubuye, asema na watu maneno ya kuwajenga, na kuwafariji, na kuwatia moyo. 
4 Yeye anenaye kwa lugha hujijenga nafsi yake; bali ahutubuye hulijenga kanisa. 
5 Nami nataka ninyi nyote mnene kwa lugha, lakini zaidi sana mpate kuhutubu, maana yeye ahutubuye ni mkuu kuliko yeye anenaye kwa lugha, isipokuwa afasiri, ili kusudi kanisa lipate kujengwa. 
 

Omba Mungu akupe hekima kufundisha watu wengine. Omba maeneno yako yaeleweke iliwatu wajengwe kiroho. Kunena kwa lugha hasa ni kwa kuomba Mungu katika sala za binafsi. Hakuna faida kunena kwa lugha mbele ya watu ambao hawaelewi unachosema.
