Romans 14:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
The Apostle Paul wanted to remind the Christians at Rome of the main purpose they should have for their lives. Their goal should be to live for the Lord. We should know that we belong to God and commit our lives daily into His hands and ask for God’s guidance in our lives.

8 Kwa maana kama tukiishi, twaishi kwa Bwana, au kama tukifa, twafa kwa Bwana. Basi kama tukiishi au kama tukifa, tu mali ya Bwana.
9 Maana Kristo alikufa akawa hai tena kwa sababu hii, awamiliki waliokufa na walio hai pia.
Mtume Paulo alitaka kuwakumbusha wakristo wa Roma kuhusu lengo la maisha yao. Lengo letu linapaswa kuishi maisha yanayompendeza Mungu. Tukabidhi maisha yetu kwa Mungu, tutafute mapenzi yake, na tutafute uongozi wake katika maisha yetu.
