Psalm 116:1-9
1 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
2 Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Lord, save me!”
5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
6 The Lord protects the unwary;
when I was brought low, he saved me.
7 Return to your rest, my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.
8 For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,
9 that I may walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.

16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.
John 6:48-51
48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
Today we remember the Last Supper which Jesus ate with His Apostles’ the night before He was crucified. That evening they were Celebrating the Jewish Passover and Jesus brought a new meaning to the festival by starting the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Welcome to our service at 7pm this evening.

Zaburi 116:1-9
1 Haleluya. Nampenda Bwana kwa kuwa anaisikiliza Sauti yangu na dua zangu.
2 Kwa maana amenitegea sikio lake, Kwa hiyo nitamwita siku zangu zote.
3 Kamba za mauti zilinizunguka, Shida za kuzimu zilinipata. Naliona taabu na huzuni;
4 Nikaliitia jina la Bwana. Ee Bwana, nakuomba sana, Uniokoe nafsi yangu.
5 Bwana ni mwenye neema na haki, Naam, Mungu wetu ni mwenye rehema.
6 Bwana huwalinda wasio na hila; Nalidhilika, akaniokoa.
7 Ee nafsi yangu, urudi rahani mwako, Kwa kuwa Bwana amekutendea ukarimu.
8 Maana umeniponya nafsi yangu na mauti, Macho yangu na machozi, Na miguu yangu na kuanguka.
9 Nitaenenda mbele za Bwana Katika nchi za walio hai.

16 Kikombe kile cha baraka tukibarikicho, je! Si ushirika wa damu ya Kristo? Mkate ule tuumegao, si ushirika wa mwili wa Kristo?
17 Kwa kuwa mkate ni mmoja, sisi tulio wengi tu mwili mmoja; kwa maana sisi sote twapokea sehemu ya ule mkate mmoja.
Yohana 6:48-51
48 Mimi ndimi chakula cha uzima.
49 Baba zenu waliila mana jangwani; wakafa.
50 Hiki ni chakula kishukacho kutoka mbinguni, kwamba mtu akile wala asife.
51 Mimi ndimi chakula chenye uzima kilichoshuka kutoka mbinguni; mtu akila chakula hiki, ataishi milele. Na chakula nitakachotoa mimi ni mwili wangu, kwa ajili ya uzima wa ulimwengu.
Leo saa 1 jioni tunakukaribisha katika Ibada malumu kushiriki Sakramenti ya Chakula cha Bwana. Siku hii tunakumbuka karamu ya mwisho Yesu alishiriki na mitume kabla ya kifo chake msalabani. Jioni ile walikuwa wanasherekea Siku kuu ya Pasaka ya Kiyahudi. Ndio siku Yesu alianzisha Sakaramenti ya Chakula cha Bwana.
