Psalm 117
1 Praise the Lord, all you nations;
extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Matthew 28:1-10
Jesus Has Risen
1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
The Women had gone to the grave expecting to anoint the body of Jesus with spices. They did not expect to find Jesus alive. Jesus had taught His disciples several times that He must die but that He would rise again on the third day. But somehow they forgot or did not understand.
But Jesus did rise again. He proved that He had overcome sin and death and Satan. Because Jesus rose again we who believe in Him will also rise again to Eternal Life. Praise God for this wonderful salvation.

1 Haleluya. Enyi mataifa yote, msifuni Bwana, Enyi watu wote, mhimidini.
2 Maana fadhili zake kwetu sisi ni kuu, Na uaminifu wa Bwana ni wa milele.

14 Basi, iwapo tunaye kuhani mkuu aliyeingia katika mbingu, Yesu, Mwana wa Mungu, na tuyashike sana maungamo yetu.
15 Kwa kuwa hamna kuhani mkuu asiyeweza kuchukuana nasi katika mambo yetu ya udhaifu; bali yeye alijaribiwa sawasawa na sisi katika mambo yote, bila kufanya dhambi.
16 Basi na tukikaribie kiti cha neema kwa ujasiri, ili tupewe rehema, na kupata neema ya kutusaidia wakati wa mahitaji.
Mathayo 28:1-10
1 Hata sabato ilipokwisha, ikipambazuka siku ya kwanza ya juma, Mariamu Magdalene, na Mariamu yule wa pili, walikwenda kulitazama kaburi.
2 Na tazama, palikuwa na tetemeko kubwa la nchi; kwa sababu malaika wa Bwana alishuka kutoka mbinguni, akaja akalivingirisha lile jiwe akalikalia.
3 Na sura yake ilikuwa kama umeme, na mavazi yake meupe kama theluji.
4 Na kwa kumwogopa, wale walinzi wakatetemeka, wakawa kama wafu.
5 Malaika akajibu, akawaambia wale wanawake, Msiogope ninyi; kwa maana najua ya kuwa mnamtafuta Yesu aliyesulibiwa.
6 Hayupo hapa; kwani amefufuka kama alivyosema. Njoni, mpatazame mahali alipolazwa.
7 Nanyi nendeni upesi, mkawaambie wanafunzi wake, Amefufuka katika wafu. Tazama, awatangulia kwenda Galilaya; ndiko mtakakomwona. Haya, nimekwisha waambia.
8 Wakaondoka upesi kutoka kaburini, kwa hofu na furaha nyingi, wakaenda mbio kuwapasha wanafunzi wake habari.
9 Na tazama, Yesu akakutana nao, akisema, Salamu! Wakakaribia wakamshika miguu, wakamsujudia.
10 Kisha Yesu akawaambia, Msiogope; enendeni, mkawaambie ndugu zangu waende Galilaya, ndiko watakakoniona.
Wale Wanawake walikwenda kaburini asubuhi na mapema siku ya Jumapili. Walitegemea kuupaka manukato mwili wa Yesu. Hawakutegemea kumkuta hai. Yesu aliwafundisha wanafunzi kuhusu kifo chake na kwamba atafufuka siku ya tatu. Lakini walisahau au hawakuelewa.
Yesu alifufuka kweli. Hii inatuonyesha ushindi. Yesu alishinda kifo na dhambi na Shetani. Na sisi ambao tunamtegemea tutakuwa washindi pia. Tutafufuka na kuishi maisha ya Milele mbinguni.
Tumshangilie Mungu kwa wokovu huu mkuu.
