1 Thessalonians 4:1-7 New International Version (NIV)
Living to Please God
1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.[b] The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
God has not called to live an “unclean” life but one separated and dedicated to Him. As Christians, each one of us should protect, guard and make decisions that will not pollute our body or mind.
He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." (1Pet.1:15-16)

1THESALONIKE 4:1-7
1 Iliyobaki, ndugu, tunakusihini na kuwaonya kwamba mwenende katika Bwana Yesu; kama mlivyopokea kwetu jinsi iwapasavyo kuenenda na kumpendeza Mungu, kama nanyi mnavyoenenda, vivyo hivyo mpate kuzidi sana.
2 Kwa kuwa mnajua ni maagizo gani tuliyowapa kwa Bwana Yesu.
3 Maana haya ndiyo mapenzi ya Mungu, kutakaswa kwenu, mwepukane na uasherati;
4 kila mmoja wenu ajue kuuweza mwili wake katika utakatifu na heshima;
5 si katika hali ya tamaa mbaya, kama Mataifa wasiomjua Mungu.
6 Mtu asimpunje ndugu yake wala kumkosa katika jambo hili; kwa sababu Bwana ndiye alipizaye kisasi cha haya yote; kama tulivyowaambia kwanza, tukashuhudia sana.
7 Maana Mungu hakutuitia uchafu, bali tuwe katika utakaso.
Mungu hakutuita kuishi maisha ya uchafu, bali kama watu tuliotengwa na kutakaswa kwa ajili yake. Sisi Wakristo, kila mmoja wetu ana wajibu wa kujikinga, kujilinda na kufanya maamuzi ambayo hayatachafua miili na akili zetu.
“…bali kama yeye aliyewaita alivyo mtakatifu, ninyi nanyi iweni watakatifu katika mwenendo wenu wote; kwa maana imeandikwa, Mtakuwa watakatifu kwa kuwa mimi ni mtakatifu. " (1Pet.1:15-16)
