THURSDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2019 MORNING
Luke 7:2-10 New International Version (NIV)
2 There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die. 3 The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. 4 When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this, 5 because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.” 6 So Jesus went with them.
He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. 8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” 10 Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.
Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If we need results, we first have to know the promises. We need to understand God, and how He works. Without hearing and understanding the Word of God, we will never have true faith. And without faith, it is impossible to please God.

LUKA 7:2-10
2 Na mtumwa wake akida mmoja alikuwa hawezi, karibu na kufa; naye ni mtu aliyempenda sana.
3 Aliposikia habari za Yesu, alituma wazee wa Wayahudi kwake kumwomba aje amponye mtumwa wake.
4 Nao walipofika kwa Yesu, walimsihi sana wakisema, Amestahili huyu umtendee neno hili;
5 maana, analipenda taifa letu, naye alitujengea sinagogi.
6 Basi Yesu akaenda pamoja nao. Hata alipokuwa si mbali na nyumba yake, yule akida alituma rafiki kwake, akamwambia, Bwana, usijisumbue, maana mimi sistahili wewe uingie chini ya dari yangu;
7 kwa hiyo nilijiona sistahili mwenyewe kuja kwako; lakini, sema neno tu, na mtumwa wangu atapona.
8 Kwa maana mimi nami ni mtu niliyewekwa chini ya mamlaka, mwenye askari chini yangu; nikimwambia huyu, Nenda, huenda; na huyu, Njoo, huja; na mtumwa wangu, Fanya hivi, hufanya.
9 Yesu aliposikia hayo alimstaajabia, akaugeukia mkutano uliokuwa ukimfuata, akasema, Nawaambia, hata katika Israeli sijaona imani kubwa namna hii.
10 Na wale waliotumwa waliporudi nyumbani, wakamkuta yule mtumwa ni mzima.
Warumi 10:17 imendikwa, “Basi imani, chanzo chake ni kusikia; na kusikia huja kwa neno la Kristo. Ikiwa tunahitaji matokeo, ni vyema tukafahamu ahadi zake. Tunahitaji kumjua Mungu, na jinsi anavyotenda kazi zake. Pasipo kusikia na kuelewa neno la Mungu, hatutaweza kuwa na imani ya kweli; na pasipo imani, haiwezekani kumpendeza Mungu.
