FRIDAY 30TH AUGUST 2019 MORNING
Jeremiah 18:13-17 New International Version (NIV)
13 Therefore this is what the Lord says:
“Inquire among the nations:
Who has ever heard anything like this?
A most horrible thing has been done
by Virgin Israel.
14 Does the snow of Lebanon
ever vanish from its rocky slopes?
Do its cool waters from distant sources
ever stop flowing?[a]
15 Yet my people have forgotten me;
they burn incense to worthless idols,
which made them stumble in their ways,
in the ancient paths.
They made them walk in byways,
on roads not built up.
16 Their land will be an object of horror
and of lasting scorn;
all who pass by will be appalled
and will shake their heads.
17 Like a wind from the east,
I will scatter them before their enemies;
I will show them my back and not my face
in the day of their disaster.”

God is distressed because His special people the Israelite Nation have turned their backs on Him. The Israeli people were worshipping idols. Because of this God allowed them to be defeated by their enemies.
Let us see if we have idols in our lives. Any person or thing which is more important to us than God has become an idol in our life. Let us seek God first and His Kingdom. Let us give Him the first place in our lives.

YEREMIA 18:13-17
13 Basi, kwa ajili ya hayo, Bwana asema hivi, Ulizeni sasa katika mataifa, ni nani aliyesikia habari za mambo kama hayo; bikira wa Israeli ametenda tendo lichukizalo sana.
14 Je! Theluji ya Lebanoni itakoma katika jabali la kondeni? Au je! Maji ya baridi yashukayo toka mbali yatakauka?
15 Maana watu wangu wamenisahau, wameufukizia ubatili uvumba; nao wamewakaza katika njia zao, katika mapito ya zamani, ili wapite katika njia za kando, katika njia isiyotengenezwa;
16 ili kufanya nchi yao kuwa kitu cha kushangaza, na cha kuzomewa daima; kila mtu apitaye karibu nayo atashangaa, na kutikisa kichwa chake.
17 Nami nitawatawanya mbele ya adui, kama kwa upepo wa mashariki; nami nitaviangalia visogo vyao, wala si nyuso zao, siku ya msiba wao.
Mungu anasikitika kwa sababu taifa lake la kipekee, Taifa la Israeli, walimwacha yeye Mungu wa kweli na kuabudu sanamu. Kwa sababu hii Mungu aliwaacha kuvamiwa na kutekwa na maadui zao.
Tujichunguze maisha yetu. Je ! tunaabudu sanamu? Mtu au kito chochote ambacho unathamini kuliko Mungu ndiyo sanamu kwako. Tumtafute kwanza Mungu wa Kweli na Ufalme wake.
