James 4:13-17 New International Version (NIV)
Boasting About Tomorrow
13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
Let us remember that our lives are in God’s hands. It is good to make plans and there is nothing wrong with carrying out honest business. But we should always seek God’s will for our lives and for everything we do. Pray first for God’s wisdom and direction before making your plans. Then continue to pray as you work that God would give you success and help you to honour Him in all you do.

YAKOBO 4:13-17
13 Haya basi, ninyi msemao, Leo au kesho tutaingia katika mji fulani na kukaa humo mwaka mzima, na kufanya biashara na kupata faida;
14 walakini hamjui yatakayokuwako kesho. Uzima wenu ni nini? Maana ninyi ni mvuke uonekanao kwa kitambo, kisha hutoweka.
15 Badala ya kusema, Bwana akipenda, tutakuwa hai na kufanya hivi au hivi.
16 Lakini sasa mwajisifu katika majivuno yenu; kujisifu kote kwa namna hii ni kubaya.
17 Basi yeye ajuaye kutenda mema, wala hayatendi, kwake huyo ni dhambi.
Tukumbuke kwamba maisha yetu yapo mikononi wa Mungu. Ni sawa kufanya mipango na biashara halali. Lakini tunapaswa kuomba kabla ya kufanya mipango ili Mungu atupe hekima tuweke mipango mema. Na tuendelee kuomba hatua kwa hatua wakati tunafanya kazi, ili Mungu atuongoze katika yote. Tutafute kumtukuza Mungu katika kila kitu.
