The Charge Against Israel
1 Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites,
because the Lord has a charge to bring
against you who live in the land:
“There is no faithfulness, no love,
no acknowledgment of God in the land.
2 There is only cursing,[a] lying and murder,
stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Because of this the land dries up,
and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
and the fish in the sea are swept away.
4 “But let no one bring a charge,
let no one accuse another,
for your people are like those
who bring charges against a priest.
5 You stumble day and night,
and the prophets stumble with you.
So I will destroy your mother—
6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
“Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children.

- Hosea 4:2 That is, to pronounce a curse on
God pronounces judgement on the Israelites and their leaders. The people and even the Priests and prophets have not followed God’s laws. They have done evil and rejected knowledge of God.
Let us think about ourselves and our nation. What would God say about us? Are we listening to God? Let us confess our sins and turn to Him.

HOSEA 4:1-6
1 Lisikieni neno la Bwana, enyi wana wa Israeli; kwa maana Bwana ana mateto nao wakaao katika nchi, kwa sababu hapana kweli, wala fadhili, wala kumjua Mungu katika nchi.
2 Hapana neno ila kuapa kwa uongo, na kuvunja ahadi, na kuua, na kuiba, na kuzini; huruka mpaka, na damu hugusana na damu.
3 Kwa ajili ya hayo nchi itaomboleza, na kila mtu akaaye ndani yake atadhoofika, pamoja na wanyama wa kondeni na ndege wa angani; naam, samaki wa baharini pia wataondolewa.
4 Walakini asishindane mtu, wala mtu asikemee; maana watu wako ni kama wao washindanao na kuhani.
5 Na wewe utajikwaa wakati wa mchana, na nabii naye atajikwaa pamoja nawe wakati wa usiku; nami nitamwangamiza mama yako.
6 Watu wangu wanaangamizwa kwa kukosa maarifa; kwa kuwa wewe umeyakataa maarifa, mimi nami nitakukataa wewe, usiwe kuhani kwangu mimi; kwa kuwa umeisahau sheria ya Mungu wako, mimi nami nitawasahau watoto wako.
Mungu anatoa hukumu kwa Waisraeli na hata viongozi wao. Mungu anahukumu hata Makuhani na Manabii. Mungu anasikitika kwa sababu hawajamtafuta yeye na hekima yake. Watu wameingia katika dhambi mbalimbali na kuacha sheria za Mungu.
Sisi Je! Na Taifa letu Mungu angesemaje? Tujichunguze. Tutubu dhambi zetu na kuomba Mungu aturehemu na atusamehe.
