WEDNESDAY 8TH JANUARY 2020 MORNING
3 JOHN 1:1-12 New International Version (NIV)
1 The elder,
To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
5 Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters,[a] even though they are strangers to you. 6 They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. 7 It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. 8 We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.
9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. 10 So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
To live in the truth is more than to agree with it. It means to allow the truth to affect every part of the life. The truth is that Jesus Christ is Lord. To live in that truth is to live as God wants us to live.

3 YOHANA 1:1-12
1 Mzee, kwa Gayo mpenzi, nimpendaye katika kweli.
2 Mpenzi naomba ufanikiwe katika mambo yote na kuwa na afya yako, kama vile roho yako ifanikiwavyo.
3 Maana nalifurahi mno walipokuja ndugu na kuishuhudia kweli yako, kama uendavyo katika kweli.
4 Sina furaha iliyo kuu kuliko hii, kusikia ya kwamba watoto wangu wanakwenda katika kweli.
5 Mpenzi, kazi ile ni ya uaminifu uwatendeayo hao ndugu na hao wageni nao,
6 waliokushuhudia upendo wako mbele ya kanisa; utafanya vizuri ukiwasafirisha kama ipasavyo kwa Mungu.
7 Kwa maana, kwa ajili ya Jina hilo, walitoka, wasipokee kitu kwa Mataifa.
8 Basi imetupasa sisi kuwakaribisha watu kama hao, ili tuwe watenda kazi pamoja na kweli.
9 Naliliandikia kanisa neno, lakini Diotrefe, apendaye kuwa wa kwanza kati yao, hatukubali.
10 Kwa hiyo, nikija, nitayakumbuka matendo yake atendayo, atoavyo upuzi juu yetu kwa maneno maovu; wala hatoshwi na hayo, ila yeye mwenyewe hawakaribishi hao ndugu, na wale watakao kuwakaribisha, huwazuia, na kuwatoa katika kanisa.
11 Mpenzi, usiuige ubaya, bali uige wema. Yeye atendaye mema ni wa Mungu, bali yeye atendaye mabaya hakumwona Mungu.
12 Demetrio ameshuhudiwa na watu wote, tena na ile kweli yenyewe. Nasi pia twashuhudia, nawe wajua ya kwamba ushuhuda wetu ni kweli.
Kuishi katika kweli ni zaidi ya kukubaliana nayo. Maana yake ni kuiruhusu kweli kugusa kila sehemu ya maisha yetu. Maana ya kweli ni hii; kwamba Yesu Kristo ni Bwana. Kuishi katika kweli hii ni kuishi kama Mungu apendavyo sisi tuishi.
