1 Samuel 7:5-11 New International Version (NIV)
5 Then Samuel said, “Assemble all Israel at Mizpah, and I will intercede with the Lord for you.” 6 When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. On that day they fasted and there they confessed, “We have sinned against the Lord.” Now Samuel was serving as leader[a] of Israel at Mizpah.
7 When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. When the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. 8 They said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines.” 9 Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.
10 While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. 11 The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Kar.

The people of Israel had been disobeying God and worshipping idols. But they decided to repent and turn back to God. The Prophet Samuel prayed for them and made a sacrifice to God. Then God heard their prayers and forgave their sins and gave them victory over their enemies.
Let us examine our lives and repent our sins and trust in Jesus and God will bless us.

1 SAMWELI 7:5-11
5 Samweli akasema, Wakusanyeni Israeli wote Mispa, nami nitawaombea ninyi kwa Bwana.
6 Wakakusanyika huko Mispa, wakateka maji na kuyamimina mbele za Bwana; wakafunga siku ile, wakasema huko, Tumemfanyia Bwana dhambi. Samweli akawaamua wana wa Israeli huko Mispa.
7 Hata Wafilisti waliposikia ya kuwa wana wa Israeli wamekusanyika huko Mispa, mashehe wa Wafilisti walipanda juu ili kupigana na Israeli. Nao wana wa Israeli waliposikia, wakawaogopa Wafilisti.
8 Wana wa Israeli wakamwambia Samweli, Usiache kumlilia Bwana, Mungu wetu, kwa ajili yetu, kwamba atuokoe na mikono ya Wafilisti.
9 Ndipo Samweli akatwaa mwana-kondoo mchanga, akamtolea Bwana sadaka ya kuteketezwa nzima; Samweli akamlilia Bwana kwa ajili ya Israeli; Bwana akamwitikia.
10 Hata Samweli alipokuwa akiitoa hiyo sadaka ya kuteketezwa, Wafilisti wakakaribia ili kupigana na Israeli; walakini Bwana akapiga ngurumo, mshindo mkubwa sana, juu ya Wafilisti siku ile, akawafadhaisha; nao wakaangamizwa mbele ya Israeli.
11 Nao watu wa Israeli wakatoka Mispa, wakawafuatia Wafilisti, wakawapiga, hata walipofika chini ya Beth-kari.
Waisraeli walimwaasi Mungu kwa kuabudu sanamu. Lakini badaye walikubali kutubu na kuacha miungu mingine. Nabii Samweli aliwaombea na kumtolea Mungu sadaka. Mungu aliwasamehe na kuwapa ushindi dhidhi ya maadui zao.
Jichunguze. Tubu dhambi na umtegemee Yesu Kristo na Mungu atakubariki.
