Luke 3:15-17 New International Version (NIV)
15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with[a] water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with[b] the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

These words are the testimony of John the Baptist. John knew his place. He knew what God had called him to do. He pointed the way to Jesus the Messiah the one who would baptize Christians with the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist was humble and committed to his task.
As we prepare for Christmas let us focus on Jesus Christ and honour Him in our lives. Pray that you will be among the “wheat” to be gathered into the barn, those who truly trust and obey Jesus Christ.

15 Basi, watu walipokuwa wakingoja yatakayotokea, wote wakiwaza-waza mioyoni mwao habari za Yohana, kama labda yeye ndiye Kristo,
16 Yohana alijibu akawaambia wote, Kweli mimi nawabatiza kwa maji; lakini yuaja mtu mwenye nguvu kuliko mimi, ambaye mimi sistahili kuilegeza gidamu ya viatu vyake; yeye atawabatiza kwa Roho Mtakatifu na kwa moto;
17 ambaye pepeo lake li mkononi mwake, naye atausafisha sana uwanda wake, na kuikusanya ngano ghalani mwake, bali makapi atayateketeza kwa moto usiozimika.
Yohana Mbatizaji alitoa ushuhuda huu kuhusu huduma yake. Pia alielezea watu kuhusu Mesihi ambaye atakuja kubatiza Wakristo kwa Roho Mtakatifu. Yohana alikuwa mnyeyekevu na mwaminifu kwa wito wake.
Je! Wewe upo katika ‘ngano” za Mungu zitakazopelekwa ghalani? Yaani unamtegemea na kumtii Yesu Kristo? Ukiandaa kusherekea Kristmasi uhahikisha kama uko salama. Utegengeneze maisha yako.
