Zaburi 109:1-5

1 Ee Mungu wa sifa zangu, usinyamaze,

2 Kwa maana wamenifumbulia kinywa;

Kinywa cha mtu asiye haki, cha hila,

Wamesema nami kwa ulimi wa uongo.

3 Naam, kwa maneno ya chuki wamenizunguka,

Wamepigana nami bure.

4 Badala ya upendo wangu wao hunishitaki,

Ijapokuwa naliwaombea.

5 Wamenichukuza mabaya badala ya mema,

Na chuki badala ya upendo wangu.

Matumizi ya ulimi;

Siku njema.

PSALM 109:1-5 (NIV)

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.

My God, whom I praise,
    do not remain silent,
for people who are wicked and deceitful
    have opened their mouths against me;
    they have spoken against me with lying tongues.
With words of hatred they surround me;
    they attack me without cause.
In return for my friendship they accuse me,
    but I am a man of prayer.
They repay me evil for good,
    and hatred for my friendship.

Use of the tongue;

David shows he was hurt by the false accusations, and the words of hatred, he is asking for the Lord's help. He shows that there are those who misuse the tongue, they hurt him! That is why he is asking for help from the Lord.

When we misuse our tongues we are sinning against God, but we are also offending and hurting others. Let's immediately stop this habit of treating others unfairly, lying to them. Hate speech does not build, other than Ahurt others and offend God. May our words make us live together in love. Good day.
