Warumi 12:17-21

Tuwapende jirani zetu;

Siku njema.

Romans 12:17-21 (NIV)

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a] says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
    if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[b]

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let us love our neighbors;

The apostle Paul writes about the qualities of a Christian who lives by the commandment to love one's neighbour. He writes about not taking revenge, feeding the hungry, and doing good to our neighbour’s in general.

In this text, the Apostle Paul reminds us to live with our neighbour’s in love, not repaying evil for evil, but only doing good, and this is the command of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The apostle Paul urges us to serve our enemies with love. This is a good mission for a loving Christian. If we love our enemies we become an example of Jesus who shows mercy to all people and returns them to him. My call to you is to be an example of Jesus who loves all, if you love all, you will be building the kingdom of God where you are. Love your neighbour as yourself.

Good day.
