Mathayo 8:14-17
14 Hata Yesu alipofika nyumbani kwa Petro, akamwona mkwe wa Petro, mamaye mkewe, amelala kitandani hawezi homa.
15 Akamgusa mkono, homa ikamwacha; naye akaondoka, akawatumikia.
16 Hata kulipokuwa jioni, wakamletea wengi wenye pepo; akawatoa pepo kwa neno lake, akawaponya wote waliokuwa hawawezi,
17 ili litimie lile neno lililonenwa na nabii Isaya, akisema,
Mwenyewe aliutwaa udhaifu wetu,
Na kuyachukua magonjwa yetu.
Neno la Mungu lina nguvu;
Maandiko yalimtabiri Bwana Yesu kuwa angekuja duniani kuokoa wanadamu, na angebeba madhaifu yao ;
Isaya 53:3-5
3 Alidharauliwa na kukataliwa na watu;
Mtu wa huzuni nyingi, ajuaye sikitiko;
Na kama mtu ambaye watu humficha nyuso zao,
Alidharauliwa wala hatukumhesabu kuwa kitu.
4 Hakika ameyachukua masikitiko yetu,
Amejitwika huzuni zetu;
Lakini tulimdhania ya kuwa amepigwa,
Amepigwa na Mungu, na kuteswa.
4 Bali alijeruhiwa kwa makosa yetu,
Alichubuliwa kwa maovu yetu;
Adhabu ya amani yetu ilikuwa juu yake,
Na kwa kupigwa kwake sisi tumepona.
Kwa kutimiza utume huu, ambao mwandishi wa Injili amemaliza nao katika mstari wa 17, ndipo Bwana Yesu anafanya uponyaji kwa mkwe wa Petro na wengine wenye pepo.
Sitaki kuamini kuwa mkwe wake Petro alikuwa hajatafutiwa tiba! Inawezekana alikuwa ametibiwa lakini bila mafanikio. Kuna walioona uponyaji huu, kwa Imani baadhi yao wakawaleta wenye pepo akawaponya, hata waliokuwa hawawezi.
Somo linasema Yesu aliwaponya kwa neno lake. Yesu anadhihirisha kuwa neno lake lina nguvu. Kumbe neno la Mungu linaponya. Kwa tafsiri pana, ni kuwa katika hali yoyote, tulisome na kulishika neno la Mungu, maana limebeba suluhisho la mwenendo mzima wa maisha yetu.

Jesus Heals Many
14 When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
“He took up our infirmities
and bore our diseases.”[a]

In fulfillment of this mission, this Gospel writer concludes with in verse 17, the Lord Jesus performs healing for Peter's Mother-in-law and other demon-possessed men.
I do not want to believe that Peter’s Mother-in-law, Peter, had not sought treatment! She may have been treated but without success. There are those who saw this healing by Faith, some of them brought people possessed by demons and He healed them, even those completely invalid.
The text says that Jesus healed them by his word. Jesus proves that his word is powerful. That the word of God heals. In a broad sense, it is that in any case, we should read and keep the word of God, for it carries the solution to the whole course of our lives.
