Mungu mmoja,

Baba, Mwana na Roho Mtakatifu;

Safari ya kuhubiri Injili imepamba moto;

Asubuhi wakaendelea kufundisha hekaluni.

Askari walipotumwa kuwaleta wakakuta hawapo gerezani.

Ijumaa njema.

FRIDAY 4TH JUNE 2021, MORNING

Acts 5:30-32  [NIV]

30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. 32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

One God,

Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

The journey of preaching the Gospel is bright;

Ananias and Sapphira sold a field, brought a small portion to the temple, and told lies about the price they paid, and they both died one after another (5:1-11)

Later the apostles in their ministry, many people were healed (5:12-16). The situation was not good for the regime at that time, the Apostles were arrested and put in prison, but the prison was opened at night and they came out! In the morning they continued to teach in the temple.

When the soldiers were sent to fetch them, they found that they were not in prison. They were ordered to appear before the council. They were brought, but not by force. The speed of the Gospel threatened the fate of the Sadducees.

Now that's where Peter in this morning's lesson, addresses the council, telling them that God raised Jesus from the dead. But the one whom they crucified, he is the Savior; he has provided forgiveness for the sins of Israel. Peter emphasizes that they will continue to preach by the power of the Holy Spirit, given to those who obey Christ.

If you look at Peter's description, it is that the Sadducees did not believe it yet. Is there among us who does not believe? The time is now.

But also Peter tells them that they do not believe in the God who raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and they do not accept Jesus and that is why they crucified him. Again they are not obedient to the Holy Spirit, which is why they do not believe. You will see here that Peter tells them they do not believe in one God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We are reminded of our firm belief in the Trinity. Jesus' death and resurrection is a manifestation of salvation, and that is why the Father raised him, leaving us the Holy Spirit to enable us. True faith in the Trinity of God, is man's solution in the life of salvation. Good Friday.
