Luka 17: 31-37

35 Wanawake wawili watakuwa wakisaga pamoja; mmoja atatwaliwa, mmoja ataachwa.
36 Watu wawili watakuwa shambani, mmoja atatwaliwa, mmoja ataachwa.
37 Wakajibu, wakamwuliza, Wapi, Bwana?

Luke 17:31-37  New International Version

31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” [36] [a]

37 “Where, Lord?” they asked.

He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”

Footnotes

  1. Luke 17:36 Some manuscripts include here words similar to Matt. 24:40.

In today's lesson, Jesus was answering his disciples' question about the coming of the kingdom of God (Luke 17:20). Jesus wanted His disciples not to use their strength to know when the kingdom of God would come, but to be ready at all times (Luke 17:31).

This also applies to us as followers of Christ, we must always be ready, waiting for the second coming of Christ.
