LUKA 11:29-32
29 Na makutano walipokuwa wakimkusanyikia, alianza kusema, Kizazi hiki ni kizazi kibaya; kinatafuta ishara, wala hakitapewa ishara, ila ishara ya Yona.
30 Maana, kama vile Yona alivyokuwa ishara kwa Waninawi, ndivyo atakavyokuwa Mwana wa Adamu kwa kizazi hiki.
31 Malkia wa Kusini ataondoka siku ya hukumu pamoja na watu wa kizazi hiki, naye atawahukumu kuwa na hatia; kwa sababu yeye alikuja kutoka ncha za dunia aisikie hekima ya Sulemani; na hapa pana mkubwa kuliko Sulemani.
32 Watu wa Ninawi watasimama siku ya hukumu pamoja na kizazi hiki, nao watakihukumu kuwa na hatia; kwa sababu wao walitubu kwa mahubiri ya Yona, na hapa pana mkubwa kuliko Yona.
Kutubu na kurejea kwa Bwana;
Bwana Yesu alifanya ishara nyingi wakati wa huduma yake. Na matokeo yake, wapo waliomfuata kwa sababu waliona ishara. Baadhi yao ndio makutano ambao tumewasoma kwenye somo hapo juu.
Yesu anawaambia kama vile Yona alivyokuwa ishara kwa kizazi cha Ninawi, Yesu ni ishara ya kizazi cha leo. Yesu ndiye ishara kuu iliyotoka mbinguni kuokoa ulimwengu.
Ninawi walitubu kwa sababu ya mahubiri ya Yona. Lakini ufahamu ya kuwa Yesu ni mkuu kuliko Yona. Sasa unasubiri nini kutubu kwa sababu ya mahubiri ya aliye mkubwa kuliko Yona, Yesu Kristo mwenyewe? Njoo, Yesu anakungojea. Tubu na kurejea kwa Bwana.

LUKE 11:29-32 New International Version
29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.
Repentance and return to the Lord;
The Lord Jesus performed many signs during His ministry. As a result, some followed him because they saw signs. Some of them are the crowds that we have read about in the lesson above.
Jesus tells them that, just as Jonah was a sign to the generation of Nineveh, Jesus is the sign of the present generation. Jesus is the great sign from heaven to save the world.
Nineveh repented because of Jonah's preaching. But Jesus is greater than Jonah. Now what are you waiting for to repent, after the preaching of the one greater than Jonah, Jesus Christ himself? Come, Jesus is waiting for you. Repent and turn to the Lord.
