Proverbs 17:15-16 New International Version (NIV)

15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent—

    the Lord detests them both.

16 Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom,

    when they are not able to understand it?

God is both just and merciful. He calls Christians to act with Justice and Mercy. A court of Law should uphold justice and normally should decide fairly who is guilty and who is not guilty of the offence for which they are being tried. 

We are all guilty before God because we are all sinners. God can not ignore sin. But Jesus Christ was punished in our place so that God can be both just and merciful when He forgives the repentant sinner.

Let us be ready to forgive others because God has forgiven us.

Mithali 17:15-16

15 Yeye asemaye kwamba asiye haki ana haki; naye asemaye kwamba mwenye haki hana haki; Hao wote wawili ni chukizo kwa Bwana. 

16 Nini maana yake, mpumbavu kuwa na fedha mkononi mwake ya kununulia hekima, Ikiwa hana moyo wa ufahamu?

Mungu ni mwenye haki na huruma. Mungu anatuita Wakristo kutenda haki na huruma.

Mahakama inapaswa kutenda haki na kuadhibu wakosaji na kuweka huru watu ambao hawana hatia.

Lakini mbele ya Mungu binadamu zote tunahatia. Sote tunatenda dhambi. Mungu hakuweza kutuhurumia bila haki. Haki imetendeka wakati Yesu ametufia msalabani. Yesu alilipa deni kwa niaba yetu. Kwa hiyo Mungu ni mwenye huruma na haki wakati anasamehe mtu aliyetubu na kumtegemea Yesu Kristo.

Tumesamehewa sana na Mungu tuwe tayari kusamehe binadamu mwenzetu.
