THURSDAY 17TH JUNE 2021 MORNING
Matthew 4:18-22 New International Version (NIV)
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Jesus desires that we follow Him. Peter and Andrew left everything going on in their lives to follow Jesus. Are we going to leave everything going on in our lives to follow Jesus? Are we going to find the time to serve the Lord with everything that is going on in our lives? “Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Gal 5:24).

MATHAYO 4:18-22
18 Naye alipokuwa akitembea kando ya bahari ya Galilaya, aliona ndugu wawili, Simoni aitwaye Petro, na Andrea nduguye, wakitupa jarife baharini; kwa maana walikuwa wavuvi.
19 Akawaambia, Nifuateni, nami nitawafanya kuwa wavuvi wa watu.
20 Mara wakaziacha nyavu zao, wakamfuata.
21 Akaendelea mbele, akaona ndugu wengine wawili, Yakobo wa Zebedayo, na Yohana nduguye, ambao walikuwamo chomboni pamoja na Zebedayo baba yao, wakizitengeneza nyavu zao; akawaita.
22 Mara wakakiacha chombo na baba yao, wakamfuata.
Yesu anapenda tumfuate yeye. Petro na Andrea waliacha vyote na walivyokuwa wakifanya ili kumfuata Yesu. Je, mimi na wewe tutaacha vitu vyote vinavyoendelea katika maisha yetu ili tumfuate Yesu? Inawezekana kupata muda wa kumtumikia Bwana katikati ya mambo mengi yanayotuzunguka katika maisha haya? “Na hao walio wa Kristo Yesu wameusulibisha mwili pamoja na mawazo yake mabaya na tamaa zake.” (Gal 5:24).
