JUMAMOSI TAREHE 17 APRILI 2021, ASUBUHI

Mwanzo 32:24-31

26 Akasema, Niache, niende, maana kunapambazuka. Akasema, Sikuachi, usiponibariki.
27 Akamwuliza, Jina lako nani? Akasema, Yakobo.
28 Akamwambia, Jina lako hutaitwa tena Yakobo, ila Israeli, maana umeshindana na Mungu, na watu, nawe umeshinda.
29 Yakobo akamwuliza, akasema, Niambie, tafadhali, jina lako? Akasema, Kwa nini waniuliza jina langu? Akambariki huko.

Kumngojea Bwana hakuna mwisho.

Usikate tamaa.

Yesu hachelewi.

Jumamosi njema.

SATURDAY 17TH APRIL 2021, MORNING

Genesis 32:24-31 New International Version

24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”

“Jacob,” he answered.

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”

But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[b] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[c] and he was limping because of his hip.

Footnotes

  1. Genesis 32:28 Israel probably means he struggles with God.
  2. Genesis 32:30 Peniel means face of God.
  3. Genesis 32:31 Hebrew Penuel, a variant of Peniel

This morning we read of Jacob wrestling a man he did not know, wanting him to bless him. Jacob did not leave him, until he blessed him, even though he had dislocated his hip!

Jacob's story for the New Testament age is a picture of someone who believes, and does not leave from the Lord's hand at all times. It is a picture of a lifetime of trust in the Lord in any circumstance.

In waiting for the Lord there is no end.

Don't give up.

Jesus is never delayed.

Have a good Saturday.
