MONDAY 27TH JULY 2020 MORNING
Matthew 13:53-58 New International Version (NIV)
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57 And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
We should not come to Jesus thinking that we know Him well. We must never think that we no longer need to be changed by Him. He is the Teacher, and we are the learners. He is the Healer, we are the sick ones, He is the Savior, and we are the lost ones. Let us make sure that we always come to Him in humble and teachable hearts.

MATHAYO 13:53-58
53 Ikawa Yesu alipoimaliza mifano hiyo, alitoka akaenda zake.
54 Na alipofika nchi yake, akawafundisha katika sinagogi lao, hata wakashangaa, wakasema, Huyu amepata wapi hekima hii na miujiza hii?
55 Huyu si mwana wa seremala? Mamaye si yeye aitwaye Mariamu? Na nduguze si Yakobo, na Yusufu, na Simoni, na Yuda?
56 Na maumbu yake wote hawapo hapa petu? Basi huyu amepata wapi haya yote?
57 Wakachukizwa naye. Yesu akawaambia, Nabii hakosi kupata heshima, isipokuwa katika nchi yake, na nyumbani mwake mwenyewe.
58 Wala hakufanya miujiza mingi huko, kwa sababu ya kutokuamini kwao.
Sisi Wakristo tusimwendee Yesu tukidhani kuwa tumekwisha kumjua kabisa. Tusidhani kuwa hatumhitaji yeye ili ayabadili maisha yetu. Yesu ni Mwalimu, na sisi ni wanafunzi. Yeye ni Mponyaji, na sisi tu wagonjwa, Yeye ni Mwokozi, na sisi ni watu waliopotea. Kila mara tunapomwendea Yesu, tujivike mioyo ya kunyenyekea na iliyo tayari kufundishwa.
