Luka 24:44-49

45 Ndipo akawafunulia akili zao wapate kuelewa maandiko.
46 Akawaambia, Ndivyo ilivyoandikwa, kwamba Kristo atateswa na kufufuka siku ya tatu;

Tumeutimiza wajibu wetu? Tunawajibika kukaa miguuni pa Yesu tukitenda jinsi anavyotuagiza.

Siku njema.

Luke 24:44-49  New International Version

44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

Waiting for the promise of the Father,

After the resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples, revealing to them from the Scriptures that he must die and be resurrected, for the salvation of humankind. He tells them that the word will be preached in his name, emphasizing repentance and remission of sins.

At the end, he tells them that they are witnesses of these things. In addition, he tells them to stay in Jerusalem waiting for his promise.

The disciples stayed in Jerusalem waiting for the promise, and they received the Holy Spirit. Jesus' promise was fulfilled and they began to preach from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and beyond.

The disciples fulfilled the responsibility given to them by Jesus. We ourselves have been given the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ Himself, who called us to do His work. Have we fulfilled our duty? We have a responsibility to sit at Jesus' feet and do as he commands.

Good day.
