John 12:39-43 New International Version (NIV)
39 For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
nor understand with their hearts,
nor turn—and I would heal them.”[a]
41 Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.
42 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved human praise more than praise from God.

Will you stand up for Jesus and what he stands for in your society? Will you say no to evil in your society in the name of Jesus? The above verses today warns us not to be blinded by human praise and miss God's glory.

YOHANA 12:39-43
39 Ndiyo sababu wao hawakuweza kusadiki; kwa maana Isaya alisema tena,
40 Amewapofusha macho, Ameifanya mizito mioyo yao; Wasije wakaona kwa macho yao, Wakafahamu kwa mioyo yao, Wakaongoka, nikawaponya.
41 Maneno hayo aliyasema Isaya, kwa kuwa aliuona utukufu wake, akataja habari zake.
42 Walakini hata katika wakuu walikuwamo wengi waliomwamini; lakini kwa sababu ya Mafarisayo hawakumkiri, wasije wakatengwa na sinagogi.
43 Kwa maana walipenda utukufu wa wanadamu kuliko utukufu wa Mungu.
Je, utamtetea Yesu na mafundisho yake katika jamii yako? Je, utapinga uovu katika jamii yako kwa jina la Yesu? Aya hizi hapo juu leo zinaonya hatari ya kupenda sifa za kibinadamu na kupoteza utukufu wa Mungu.
