MONDAY 29TH MARCH 2021 MORNING
John 12:1-8 New International Version (NIV)
1 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. 3 Then Mary took about a pint[a] of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.[b]” 6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. 8 You will always have the poor among you,[c] but you will not always have me.”
The true motive for serving Christ is because He is worthy of everything you can do for Him and because you love Him and want to please Him because He gave Himself for you on the cross. That is the only thing that makes any sense in ministry. We do it for Him.” The world may scorn us and reject our message. Other believers may criticize us and not appreciate what we are doing. However, we are not wasting our lives if we spend them in selfless devotion for Jesus.

YOHANA 12:1-8
1 Basi, siku sita kabla ya Pasaka, Yesu alifika Bethania, alipokuwapo Lazaro, yeye ambaye Yesu alimfufua katika wafu.
2 Basi wakamwandalia karamu huko; naye Martha akatumikia; na Lazaro alikuwa mmojawapo wa wale walioketi chakulani pamoja naye.
3 Basi Mariamu akatwaa ratli ya marhamu ya nardo safi yenye thamani nyingi, akampaka Yesu miguu, akamfuta miguu kwa nywele zake. Nayo nyumba pia ikajaa harufu ya marhamu.
4 Basi Yuda Iskariote, mmojawapo wa wanafunzi wake, ambaye ndiye atakaye kumsaliti, akasema,
5 Mbona marhamu hii haikuuzwa kwa dinari mia tatu, wakapewa maskini?
6 Naye aliyasema hayo, si kwa kuwahurumia maskini; bali kwa kuwa ni mwivi, naye ndiye aliyeshika mfuko, akavichukua vilivyotiwa humo.
7 Basi Yesu alisema, Mwache aiweke kwa siku ya maziko yangu.
8 Kwa maana maskini mnao sikuzote pamoja nanyi; bali mimi hamnami sikuzote.
Sababu ya kweli ya kumtumikia Kristo ni kuwa, anastahili kila tufanyalo na pia ni kwa sababu tunampenda na tunataka kumpendeza kwa sababu alijitoa kwa ajili yetu pale msalabani. Hicho ndicho kitu pekee kinachoweza kuleta maana katika huduma yetu. Tunafanya kwa ajili ya Kristo. Dunia inaweza kutudhihaki na kukataa ujumbe wetu; na Wakristo wengine wanaweza kutukosoa na wasione maana ya kile tufanyacho. Hata hivyo, hatupati hasara ya maisha yetu ikiwa tunatumia muda wetu wote kujitoa kwa ajili ya Yesu.
