John 10:10-15 New International Version (NIV)
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Jesus Christ came so we may have life, here on Earth and thereafter. During his ministry Jesus healed many sick people, gave hope to the down trodden, and love to the forsaken. He did all this for free. In the verse above the 'thief' refers to Satan whose work is to steal, kill and destroy. At this time when we prepare to celebrate Christ's birthday, let us not forget what Jesus has done for us, to help the needy, and be apart from the works of Satan.

10 Mwivi haji ila aibe na kuchinja na kuharibu; mimi nalikuja ili wawe na uzima, kisha wawe nao tele.
Yesu alikuja duniani ili tuwe an uzima hapa duniani na Mbinguni. Yesu katika huduma yake aliponya watu wengi, aliwapa matumaini waliodharauliwa, na upendo kwa waliosahauliwa. Alifanya yote hayo bila kudai chochote. Katika mstari wa leo, 'Mwivi' ni Shetani, ambaye kazi yake ni kuiba, kuua na kuharibu. Tunapojiandaa kusherehekea kuzaliwa kwa Yesu, tusisahau jinsi alivyotuokoa, kusaidia wahitaji, na pia kujitenga na kazi za yule mwovu.
