TUESDAY 22nd JUNE 2021 MORNING
Ezekiel 37:20-22 New International Version (NIV)
20 Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on 21 and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.
This is the message to the Children of Israel and the saints in the church today that, the Lord wants His people to be united. ‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity’ (Psalm 133:1). Paul appealed to the believers in Corinth to cultivate unity in the church (1 Corinthians 1:10), and he exhorted the Ephesians believers to ‘make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace’ (Ephesians 4:3, NIV).”
This shows that the unity promised here is a unity of purity and devotion to one Lord and king, Jesus Christ.

20 Navyo vijiti, ambavyo uliandika juu yake, vitakuwa mkononi mwako mbele ya macho yao.
21 Ukawaambie, Bwana MUNGU asema hivi; Tazama, nitawatwaa wana wa Israeli toka kati ya mataifa walikokwenda, nami nitawakusanya pande zote, na kuwaleta katika nchi yao wenyewe;
22 nami nitawafanya kuwa taifa moja katika nchi hiyo, juu ya milima ya Israeli; na mfalme mmoja atakuwa mfalme wao wote; wala hawatakuwa tena mataifa mawili, wala hawatagawanyikana kuwa falme mbili tena, hata milele.
Ujumbe huu ni kwa ajili ya wana wa Israeli na watakatifu walioko katika Kanisa la leo kuwa, Bwana anataka watu wake waishi katika umoja. ‘Tazama, jinsi ilivyo vema, na kupendeza, Ndugu wakae pamoja, kwa umoja’ (Zab 133:1). Paulo aliwasihi waumini wa Kanisa la Korintho kutunza umoja katika kanisa (1 Wakorintho 1:10), na aliwausia wazee katika Kanisa la Efeso ‘… kujitahidi kuuhifadhi umoja wa Roho katika kifungo cha amani.’ (Waefeso 4:3).”
Hii inaonyesha kuwa umoja ulioahidiwa hapa ni umoja wa usafi na kujitoa kwa Bwana na Mfalme mmoja, Yesu Kristo.
