MONDAY 3RD JUNE 2019 MORNING
Deuteronomy 9:25-29 New International Version (NIV)
25 I lay prostrate before the Lord those forty days and forty nights because the Lord had said he would destroy you. 26 I prayed to the Lord and said, “Sovereign Lord, do not destroy your people, your own inheritance that you redeemed by your great power and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand. 27 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Overlook the stubbornness of this people, their wickedness and their sin. 28 Otherwise, the country from which you brought us will say, ‘Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land he had promised them, and because he hated them, he brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.’ 29 But they are your people, your inheritance that you brought out by your great power and your outstretched arm.”
Moses prayed to God to have mercy on the Israeli people and to forgive them and not destroy them. God was angry with the people because they had made a Golden calf as an idol and worshipped it. Notice how Moses is very concerned for the welfare of the people but also for the honor of God’s name.
You too can come to God to ask Him for His blessings, forgiveness and mercy upon other people in your family or nation.

KUMBUKUMBU LA TORATI 9:25-29
26 Nikamwomba Bwana, nikasema, Ee Bwana Mungu, usiwaangamize watu wako, urithi wako, uliowakomboa kwa ukuu wako, uliowatoa Misri kwa mkono wa nguvu.
27 Wakumbuke watumwa wako, Ibrahimu, na Isaka, na Yakobo; usiangalie upotofu wa watu hawa, wala uovu wao, wala dhambi yao;
28 isije nchi uliyotutoa ikasema, Ni kwa sababu Bwana hakuweza kuwaleta katika nchi aliyowapa ahadi, tena ni kwa kuwa aliwachukia, alivyowatoa nje ili kuwaua jangwani.
29 Nao ni watu wako, urithi wako, uliowatoa kwa nguvu zako kuu na mkono wako ulionyoka.
Musa aliomba kwa niaba la Taifa la Israeli. Mungu alikasirika kwa sababu walimwaasi kwa kutengeneza na kuabudu sanamu, ndama wa dhahabu. Mungu alitaka kuangamiza taifa. Musa alijali Taifa la Israeli na alijali heshima na Utukufu wa Mungu.
Sisi pia tunaweza kuomba na kutubu kwa niaba ya watu wengine katika famila au Taifa letu.
