THURSDAY 5TH JANUARY 2017 MORNING
Deuteronomy 3:18-22 New International Version (NIV)
18 I commanded you at that time: “The Lord your God has given you this land to take possession of it. But all your able-bodied men, armed for battle, must cross over ahead of the other Israelites. 19 However, your wives, your children and your livestock (I know you have much livestock) may stay in the towns I have given you, 20 until the Lord gives rest to your fellow Israelites as he has to you, and they too have taken over the land that the Lord your God is giving them across the Jordan. After that, each of you may go back to the possession I have given you.”
Moses Forbidden to Cross the Jordan
21 At that time I commanded Joshua: “You have seen with your own eyes all that the Lord your God has done to these two kings. The Lord will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going. 22 Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”
God gave the Israeli people the Promised Land. The land was shared out among the 12 tribes. God fought for the people. He helped them to overcome their enemies but the people also had to fight and help one another.
As Christians God is on our side and will fight for us when we obey Him and seek to build His kingdom but He expects us to do our part and to work together in harmony.

KUMBUKUMBU LA TORATI 3:18-22
18 Nikawaamuru wakati huo, nikawaambia, Bwana, Mungu wenu, amewapa ninyi nchi hii mwimiliki, basi vukeni ng'ambo wenye silaha mbele ya ndugu zenu, wana wa Israeli, nyote mlio mashujaa.
19 Lakini wake wenu na watoto wenu, na wanyama wenu wa mji, (nawajua kwamba mna wanyama wengi), na wakae katika miji yenu niliyowapa;
20 hata Bwana awapumzishe ndugu zenu kama ninyi, nao pia waimiliki nchi wapewayo na Bwana, Mungu wenu, ng'ambo ya Yordani; ndipo mtakaporudi kila mmoja aende katika milki yake niliyowapa.
21 Nikamwamuru Yoshua wakati huo, nikamwambia, Macho yako yameona yote aliyowatenda Bwana, Mungu wenu, wale wafalme wawili, navyo ndivyo atakavyoutenda Bwana kila ufalme huko uvukiako.
22 Msiwache, kwa kuwa Bwana, Mungu wenu, ndiye awapiganiaye.
Mungu aliwapa Waisraeli nchi ya ahadi. Aligawa nchi hiyo kwa kabila 12 kila mmoja kwa eneo lake. Mungu aliwapigania dhidi ya adui zao. Lakini pia Waisraeli walikuwa na wajibu wa kupiga vita na kusaidiana.
Mungu yupo upande wetu na anatupigania sisi Wakristo wakati tunafanya kazi yake. Lakini kila moja achukue wajibu wake na tusaiaidane kujenga ufalme wa Mungu.
