TUESDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER MORNING
Deuteronomy 26: 12 - 15
12 When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied. 13 Then say to the Lord your God: “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, according to all you commanded. I have not turned aside from your commands nor have I forgotten any of them. 14 I have not eaten any of the sacred portion while I was in mourning, nor have I removed any of it while I was unclean, nor have I offered any of it to the dead. I have obeyed the Lord my God; I have done everything you commanded me. 15 Look down from heaven, your holy dwelling place, and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us as you promised on oath to our ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.”
This week we are thinking about Christian stewardship. We are responsible to God as to how we live our lives and how we use all that God has given us. We are to use our money and financial resources wisely. The principle given here is that 10% of all our income belongs to God. That is a basic minimum and we may also give additional offerings for God’s work and to help those in need.
Let us remember along with our financial offerings let us also dedicate our lives to serve God so that all we do and think and say is pleasing to God.

KUMB 26:12-15
12 Utakapokwisha kutoa zaka, katika zaka zote za maongeo yako mwaka wa tatu, ambao ndio mwaka wa kutolea zaka, umpe zile zaka Mlawi, na mgeni, na yatima, na mjane, wapate kula ndani ya malango yako na kushiba;
13 nawe sema mbele ya Bwana, Mungu wako, Vitu vilivyo vitakatifu nimeviondoa katika nyumba yangu, nami mimewapa Mlawi, na mgeni, na yatima, na mjane, kwa mfano wa maagizo yako uliyoniusia yote; sikukosa maagizo yako yo yote, wala sikuyasahau;
14 katika vitu hivyo sikula wakati wa kukaa matanga mimi, wala sikuviondoa nikiwa na unajisi, wala sikutoa kwa ajili ya wafu katika vitu hivyo; sauti ya Bwana, Mungu wangu, nimeisikiza, nimefanya yote, kama ulivyoniamuru.
15 Uangalie kutoka makazi yako matakatifu mbinguni, uwabarikie watu wako Israeli, na nchi uliyotupa kama ulivyowaapia baba zetu, nchi imiminikayo maziwa na asali.
Wiki hii tunatafakari kuhusu Uwakili wetu kwa Bwana. Uwakili huu unahusu kila eneo la maisha yetu. Inahusu fedha na mali zetu, vipawa vyetu na muda wetu na hata maisha yetu yenyewe. Mungu aliagiza waisraeli kumtolea Fungu la Kumi au zaka ya mali zote. Wakristo pia tunapaswa kujua kwamba asilimia 10 ya mshara yetu na faida katika biashara na kilimo na ufugaji ni mali ya Bwana. Pia tunaweza kumtolea zaidi ya asilimia 10 katika sadaka zingine.
Pamoja na sadaka za fedha na mali, tujitoe kwa Mungu ili matendo, mawazo na maneno yetu yote yawe safi mbele ya zake.
