WEDNESDAY 1ST MAY 2019 MORNING
Acts 2:29-32 New International Version (NIV)
29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.
David was a great king who loved God. He is respected by both Jews and Christians but he died and was buried. His far greater descendant king Jesus rose from the dead and is alive and reigns forever. Peter a witness of Christ’ resurrection preached this message to his fellow Jews on the day of Pentecost and 3000 men believed and were baptized. This was the start of the Christian church. Praise God the church has continued to spread around the world and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

MATENDO 2:29-32
29 Waume, ndugu zangu, mniwie radhi, niseme kwa ujasiri mbele yenu habari za baba yetu mkuu, Daudi, ya kuwa alifariki akazikwa, na kaburi lake liko kwetu hata leo.
30 Basi kwa kuwa ni nabii, akijua ya kuwa Mungu amemwapia kwa kiapo, ya kwamba katika uzao wa viuno vyake atamketisha mmoja katika kiti chake cha enzi;
31 yeye mwenyewe akitangulia kuyaona haya, alitaja habari za kufufuka kwake Kristo, ya kwamba roho yake haikuachwa kuzimu, wala mwili wake haukuona uharibifu.
32 Yesu huyo Mungu alimfufua, na sisi sote tu mashahidi wake.
