THURSDAY 1ST MARCH 2018 MORNING
2 Samuel 1:13-16 New International Version (NIV)
13 David said to the young man who brought him the report, “Where are you from?”
“I am the son of a foreigner, an Amalekite,” he answered.
14 David asked him, “Why weren’t you afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?”
15 Then David called one of his men and said, “Go, strike him down!” So he struck him down, and he died. 16 For David had said to him, “Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said, ‘I killed the Lord’s anointed.’”
In order to understand the passage for today you need to read the previous verses in this chapter. The young man had just brought David bad news that King Saul and his son Jonathan were dead and that he was the one who killed King Saul at the kings request. David is shocked by this news and orders the Amalekite to be killed.
We should remember that human life is sacred from conception to natural death. Let us remember that all people are created in God’s image and they deserve our respect.
ALHAMISI TAREHE 1 MACHI 2018 ASUBUHI
2 SAMWELI 1:13-16
13 Naye Daudi akamwambia yule kijana aliyempa habari, Watoka wapi wewe? Akajibu, Mimi ni mwana wa mgeni, Mwamaleki.
14 Daudi akamwambia, Jinsi gani hukuogopa kuunyosha mkono wako umwangamize masihi wa BWANA?
15 Ndipo Daudi akamwita mmoja wa vijana, akamwambia, Mwendee, ukamwangukie. Basi akampiga hata akafa.
