1 Yohana 2:18-25
18 Watoto, ni wakati wa mwisho; na kama vile mlivyosikia kwamba mpinga Kristo yuaja, hata sasa wapinga Kristo wengi wamekwisha kuwapo. Kwa sababu hiyo twajua ya kuwa ni wakati wa mwisho.
19 Walitoka kwetu, lakini hawakuwa wa kwetu. Maana kama wangalikuwa wa kwetu, wangalikaa pamoja nasi. Lakini walitoka ili wafunuliwe kwamba si wote walio wa kwetu.
20 Nanyi mmepakwa mafuta na Yeye aliye Mtakatifu nanyi mnajua nyote.
21 Sikuwaandikia ninyi kwa sababu hamwijui iliyo kweli, bali kwa sababu mwaijua, tena kwamba hapana uongo wo wote utokao katika hiyo kweli.
22 Ni nani aliye mwongo ila yeye akanaye ya kuwa Yesu ni Kristo? Huyo ndiye mpinga Kristo, yeye amkanaye Baba na Mwana.
23 Kila amkanaye Mwana, hanaye Baba; amkiriye Mwana anaye Baba pia.
24 Ninyi basi, hilo mlilolisikia tangu mwanzo na likae ndani yenu. Ikiwa hilo mlilolisikia tangu mwanzo linakaa ndani yenu, ninyi nanyi mtakaa ndani ya Mwana, na ndani ya Baba.
25 Na hii ndiyo ahadi aliyotuahidia, yaani, uzima wa milele.
Tukaze mwendo katika Yesu Kristo;
Yohana anaandika waraka huu akitukumbusha kuwa makini na mafundisho potofu kuhusu kweli ya Yesu. Anaandika kuwa amkanaye Kristo ni mwongo, mpinga Kristo. Hivyo nasi tuwapinge wanaompinga Kristo, kwa kupinga mafundisho yao, tusiwasikilize.
Basi, neno lake likae kwa wingi mioyoni mwetu kama tulivyolipokea tokea mwanzo, ili tuifikie ahadi aliyotupa kama tulivyosoma (25) yaani uzima wa milele. Tutaifikia ahadi ya uzima wa milele tukimsikiliza na kumfuata Yesu Kristo. Siku njema.

Warnings Against Denying the Son
18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.[a] 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.

Let us press on in Jesus Christ;
John writes this epistle reminding us to beware of false teachings about the truth of Jesus. He writes that the one who denies Christ is a liar, the antichrist. So we must oppose the antichrist, against their teachings, and not listen to them.
Let the word of God dwell in us richly as we have received it from the beginning, that we may fulfil the promise he has given us as we have read in verse (25) that is, eternal life. We will reach the promise of eternal life if we listen to Jesus Christ and follow Him.
