1 Wathesalonike 5:19-21
19 Msimzimishe Roho;
20 msitweze unabii;
21 jaribuni mambo yote; lishikeni lililo jema;
Mwenendo wenu uwe na hekima;
Ujumbe huu wa leo asubuhi ni sehemu ya mausia ya mwisho, salamu na baraka, Mtume Paulo anapomalizia kuandika waraka wa kwanza kwa waThesalonike. Ukisoma kuanzia mstari wa 15, Mtume Paulo anawausia wasilipe baya kwa baya, waishi kwa furaha siku zote.
Mtume Paulo anaendelea kusisitiza watu wamshukuru Mungu kwa kila jambo, maana hayo ni mapenzi ya Mungu. Hapo ndipo anakuja kusema kuwa wasimzimishe Roho, wala kutweza unabii. Paulo anawataka wadumu wakiongozwa na Roho Mtakatifu katika utume wao, ili kazi za Mungu zidhihirike kwao.
Leo asubuhi tunakumbushwa kuwa mfumo wetu wa maisha uwe kumcha Bwana, kwa kutenda mema. Roho Mtakatifu atuongoze na kutuwezesha, ili tusitoke katika njia ya wokovu.
Tujawe na furaha katika utume wetu kuelekea maisha yajayo, kwa kuacha ubaya na kutenda mema. Siku njema.
TUESDAY 3RD AUGUST 2021, MORNING
1 THESALONIANS 5:19-21
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good,
Be wise in your behaviour;
This morning's message is part of the final exhortation, greetings and blessings, as the Apostle Paul concludes his first epistle to the Thessalonians. If you read from verse 15, the Apostle Paul exhorts them not to repay evil for evil, but to live happily together.
The apostle Paul goes on to urge people to thank God in all things, for this is the will of God. That's when he comes to say that they should not quench the Spirit, nor despise prophecy. Paul wants them to remain guided by the Holy Spirit in their mission, so that the works of God may be manifested in them.
This morning we are reminded that our way of life should be to fear the Lord, by doing good. May the Holy Spirit guide and empower us, so that we do not stray from the path of salvation.
May we find joy in our mission to the next life, by renouncing evil and doing good. Good day.
