1 Peter 5:1-4 New International Version (NIV)
To the Elders and the Flock
1 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd and the Head of the Church. He has called and appointed under-shepherds to care for His church. These may be Pastors, Evangelists and other Full-time church workers and also volunteers such as Church Elders elected by Congregations and also those who are chosen as Sunday School teachers and leaders of groups within the church. Let us pray for all these leaders to do their work faithfully as Peter advises.
Remember this year we will be choosing leaders and Elders in all congregations in our Diocese. Pray for the whole process, and be ready to serve should you be chosen.

1 PETRO 5:1-14
1 Nawasihi wazee walio kwenu, mimi niliye mzee, mwenzi wao, na shahidi wa mateso ya Kristo, na mshirika wa utukufu utakaofunuliwa baadaye;
2 lichungeni kundi la Mungu lililo kwenu, na kulisimamia, si kwa kulazimishwa, bali kwa hiari kama Mungu atakavyo; si kwa kutaka fedha ya aibu, bali kwa moyo.
3 Wala si kama wajifanyao mabwana juu ya mitaa yao, bali kwa kujifanya vielelezo kwa lile kundi.
4 Na Mchungaji mkuu atakapodhihirishwa, mtaipokea taji ya utukufu, ile isiyokauka.
Yesu Kristo ni Mchungaji Mwema na Kichwa cha Kanisa. Yesu anawaita viongozi wengine kufanya kazi chini yake kuchunga kondoo. Kuna Wachugaji , Waiinjilisti na watumishi wengine wenye ajira. Pia kuna watumishi wakuchaguliwa katika kila sharika kama Wazee wa Baraza, Walimu wa Sunday School na Viongozi wa Vikundi. Waombee hawa watumishi ili watekeleza majukumu yao kwa uaminifu.
Mwaka huu tutachagua viongozi wa Vikundi na Baraza la Wazee katika kila Sharika na Mtaa DMP. Omba kwa ajili ya mpango huu ili tuchague viongozi wema.
