Nehemia 12:43-46
43 Wakatoa dhabihu nyingi siku ile, wakafurahi; kwa kuwa Mungu amewafurahisha furaha kuu; na wanawake pia na watoto wakafurahi; hata ikasikiwa mbali sana furaha hiyo ya Yerusalemu.
44 Na siku hiyo watu wakaagizwa juu ya vyumba vya hazina, kwa sadaka za kuinuliwa, na kwa malimbuko, na kwa zaka, ili kuzikusanya, kwa kadiri ya mashamba ya miji, sehemu zilizoamriwa katika torati za makuhani, na Walawi; kwa maana Yuda waliwafurahia makuhani na Walawi waliotumika.
45 Wakauangalia ulinzi wa Mungu wao, na ulinzi wa kutakasika, na hao waimbaji na mabawabu vile vile, sawasawa na amri ya Daudi, na ya Sulemani mwanawe.
46 Kwa kuwa siku za Daudi zamani, Asafu alikuwa mkuu wa waimbaji, na juu ya nyimbo za sifa na shukrani kwa Mungu.
Uwakili wetu kwa Bwana;
Ni siku ya uzinduzi wa ukuta mjini Yerusalemu, watu wanakusanyika na mbele ya makuhani wanatoa sadaka maana Mungu aliwapa furaha kuu. Watu walileta sadaka toka mashambani wakimshukuru Mungu kwa baraka na ulinzi wake. Makuhani walipokea sadaka hekalu likajaa.
Israeli walitoa sadaka hekalu likajaa. Maana yake walitoa mali zao, kwa moyo, wakimpa Bwana aliyewapa.
Sisi tukoje katika utoaji wetu? Wito wangu asubuhi hii, hebu tutafakari ukuu wa Mungu halafu tufanye uamuzi katika kufanya kazi, ili tuzalishe kwa wingi, na hivyo kumtolea Bwana sadaka. Kutomtolea Bwana ipasavyo ni kushikilia mali yake, maana sisi tu mawakili tu. Mtolee Bwana mali alizokupa kwa ajili ya kazi yake.

Nehemia 12:43-46 (NIV)
43 And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.
44 At that time men were appointed to be in charge of the storerooms for the contributions, firstfruits and tithes. From the fields around the towns they were to bring into the storerooms the portions required by the Law for the priests and the Levites, for Judah was pleased with the ministering priests and Levites. 45 They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did also the musicians and gatekeepers, according to the commands of David and his son Solomon. 46 For long ago, in the days of David and Asaph, there had been directors for the musicians and for the songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
Our stewardship to the Lord;
It is the day of the inauguration of the wall in Jerusalem, the people are gathering and the priests are offering sacrifices because God has given them great joy. The people brought offerings from the fields thanking God for his blessing and protection. The priests received the offerings and the temple was filled.
Israel offered sacrifices and the temple was filled. That is, they gave of their possessions, wholeheartedly, to the Lord who gave them.
How are we doing in our offering? My wish this morning, let us reflect on the greatness of God and then make a decision in action, to produce more, and thus to offer sacrifices to the Lord. Not giving the Lord properly is to hold on to his property, for we are only stewards. Give to the Lord the possesions he has given you; for his work.
