PSALM 33:13-22, MATTHEW 5:1-3, 1 PETER 1:13-17
Psalm 33:13-22New International Version (NIV)
13 From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth—
15 he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
16 No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
20 We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.

Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
1 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.

He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Be Holy
13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially,live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

Today we remember the saints. Saints are all true Christians.We remember the Christians who have gone on ahead and we learn from their example. We are all called to be sanctified, to be made Holy. We a called to repent ours sins and to be lead by the Holy Spirit so that we manifest the Fruit of the Spirit. In these verses the Apostle Paul gives advice for Holy living. Let us seek to live lives which are dedicated to God and pleasing to Him. We should remember that our time on earth is like a pilgrimage to prepare us for Eternity in Heaven.

13 Toka mbinguni Bwana huchungulia, Huwatazama wanadamu wote pia.
14 Toka mahali pake aketipo Huwaangalia wote wakaao duniani.
15 yeye aiumbaye mioyo yao wote Huzifikiri kazi zao zote.
16 Hapana mfalme aokokaye kwa wingi wa uwezo, Wala shujaa haokoki kwa wingi wa nguvu.
17 Farasi hafai kitu kwa wokovu, Wala hamponyi mtu kwa wingi wa nguvu zake.
18 Tazama, jicho la Bwana li kwao wamchao, Wazingojeao fadhili zake.
19 Yeye huwaponya nafsi zao na mauti, Na kuwahuisha wakati wa njaa.
20 Nafsi zetu zinamngoja Bwana; Yeye ndiye msaada wetu na ngao yetu.
21 Maana mioyo yetu itamfurahia, Kwa kuwa tumelitumainia jina lake takatifu.

Naye alipowaona makutano, alipanda mlimani; na alipokwisha kuketi, wanafunzi wake walimjia;
2 akafumbua kinywa chake, akawafundisha, akisema,
3 Heri walio maskini wa roho; Maana ufalme wa mbinguni ni wao.

13 Kwa hiyo vifungeni viuno vya nia zenu, na kuwa na kiasi; mkiitumainia kwa utimilifu ile neema mtakayoletewa katika ufunuo wake Yesu Kristo.
14 Kama watoto wa kutii msijifananishe na tamaa zenu za kwanza za ujinga wenu;
15 bali kama yeye aliyewaita alivyo mtakatifu, ninyi nanyi iweni watakatifu katika mwenendo wenu wote;
16 kwa maana imeandikwa, Mtakuwa watakatifu kwa kuwa mimi ni mtakatifu.
17 Na ikiwa mnamwita Baba, yeye ahukumuye kila mtu pasipo upendeleo, kwa kadiri ya kazi yake, enendeni kwa hofu katika wakati wenu wa kukaa hapa kama wageni.
Leo tunakumbuka Watakatifu wote ambao wametutangulia. Watakatifu ni Wakristo wote ambao wametakaswa na Roho Mtakatifu. Sisi sote tunaitwa kuwa Watakatifu. Hatuwezi kujitakasa. Tunahesabiwa kuwa takatifu tu kwa sababu Yesu Kristo alilipa madeni yetu msalabani. Tujitahidi kutubu dhambi zetu kila wakati. Tuongozwe na Roho Mtakatifu ili tuzae Tunda la Roho. Tukumbuke kwamba maisha hapa duniani ni kama safari ya kuelekea Mbinguni.
