Jeremiah 9:13-16 New International Version (NIV)
13 The Lord said, “It is because they have forsaken my law, which I set before them; they have not obeyed me or followed my law. 14 Instead, they have followed the stubbornness of their hearts; they have followed the Baals, as their ancestors taught them.” 15 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “See, I will make this people eat bitter food and drink poisoned water. 16 I will scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known, and I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them.”
God warns the people through the Prophet Jeremiah. The people of Judah were disobedient to God. They did not follow His laws. God proclaims judgement upon the people because of their sins and rebellion.
We too should be warned. God expects us to obey His laws. Let us be faithful to Him.

YEREMIA 9:13-16
13 Naye Bwana asema, Ni kwa sababu wameiacha sheria yangu niliyoweka mbele yao, wala hawakuitii sauti yangu, wala kuenenda katika hiyo;
14 bali wameenenda katika ushupavu wa mioyo yao wenyewe, na kuandamana na Mabaali, kama walivyofundishwa na baba zao.
15 Basi, Bwana wa majeshi, Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, Tazama, nitawalisha pakanga, naam, watu hawa, nami nitawapa maji ya uchungu wayanywe.
16 Nami nitawatawanya kati ya mataifa, ambao wao hawakuwajua; wala baba zao, nami nitatuma upanga nyuma yao, hata nitakapowaangamiza kabisa.
Mungu alimtumia Nabii Yeremia kuonya watu. Watu wa Yuda walimwaasi Mungu kwa kuvunja amri zake. Mungu aliwaambia kwamba atawaadhibu kwa sababu ya dhambi zao.
Mungu anasema na sisi pia kwa njia mbalimbali wakati tunasoma Biblia na wakati tunasikia mahubiri ya Neno la Mungu. Tuwe watiifu tufuate sheria za Mungu.
