1 John 2:18-29 New International Version (NIV)
Warnings Against Denying the Son
18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.[a] 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.
26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
God’s Children and Sin
28 And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.

The Apostle John writes to encourage Christians to remain faithful to God and not to be deceived by false teachers. 18 Watoto, ni wakati wa mwisho; na kama vile mlivyosikia kwamba mpinga Kristo yuaja, hata sasa wapinga Kristo wengi wamekwisha kuwapo. Kwa sababu hiyo twajua ya kuwa ni wakati wa mwisho.
19 Walitoka kwetu, lakini hawakuwa wa kwetu. Maana kama wangalikuwa wa kwetu, wangalikaa pamoja nasi. Lakini walitoka ili wafunuliwe kwamba si wote walio wa kwetu.
20 Nanyi mmepakwa mafuta na Yeye aliye Mtakatifu nanyi mnajua nyote.
21 Sikuwaandikia ninyi kwa sababu hamwijui iliyo kweli, bali kwa sababu mwaijua, tena kwamba hapana uongo wo wote utokao katika hiyo kweli.
22 Ni nani aliye mwongo ila yeye akanaye ya kuwa Yesu ni Kristo? Huyo ndiye mpinga Kristo, yeye amkanaye Baba na Mwana.
23 Kila amkanaye Mwana, hanaye Baba; amkiriye Mwana anaye Baba pia.
24 Ninyi basi, hilo mlilolisikia tangu mwanzo na likae ndani yenu. Ikiwa hilo mlilolisikia tangu mwanzo linakaa ndani yenu, ninyi nanyi mtakaa ndani ya Mwana, na ndani ya Baba.
25 Na hii ndiyo ahadi aliyotuahidia, yaani, uzima wa milele.
26 Nimewaandikia haya katika habari za watu wale wanaotaka kuwapoteza.
27 Nanyi, mafuta yale mliyoyapata kwake yanakaa ndani yenu, wala hamna haja ya mtu kuwafundisha; lakini kama mafuta yake yanavyowafundisha habari za mambo yote, tena ni kweli wala si uongo, na kama yalivyowafundisha, kaeni ndani yake.
28 Na sasa, watoto wadogo, kaeni ndani yake, ili kusudi, atakapofunuliwa, mwe na ujasiri, wala msiaibike mbele zake katika kuja kwake.
29 Kama mkijua ya kuwa yeye ni mwenye haki, jueni ya kuwa kila atendaye haki amezaliwa na yeye.
Mtume Yonana aliwaandikia Wakristo kuwatia moyo na kuwaonya wasidanganywe na mahubiri ya uongo. Waraka huu iliandikwa karibu miaka 2000 iliyopita lakini ujumbe wake unafaa sana hadi leo. Kuna mahubiri mengi yenye mafundisho mbalimbali. Tujitahadari tusidanganywe. Tuwe wanafunzi wa Biblia. Tujichunguze Maandiko Matakatifu sisi wenyewe na kuhakikisha ukweli wa mafundisho taunayopata ili tuweze kukua kiroho.
