'God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God'. (1Pet 5:5b-6a)
There are those whom God resists: The Proud
For a person to have God against him, must be like constantly beating against a wall which hems on a person in every side. If God is against you, no power on earth can help. If you feel that all paths are barred, then ascertain whether it is because your will is not in submission to God's will.
In that case, there is but one thing for you to do: humble yourself
When you submit, He who was formerly against you and barred the way for you, becomes your helper and your open door. Against the mighty hand of God, you are helpless, but under the mighty hand of God you can do all things.
Do not make God your opponent when He desires to be your best friend.

'Mungu huwapinga wenye kiburi, lakini huwapa wanyenyekevu neema. Basi nyenyekeeni chini ya mkono wa Mungu ulio hodari'. (1Pet 5:5b-6a)
Kuna watu wale amabo Mungu huwapinga: Hawa ni wale wenye kiburi
Tafakari! Mtu anayepingana na Mungu ni sawa yule anayepiga ngumi ukuta ambao kidogo kidogo unambana toka kila upande. Kwa kuwa ikiwa Mungu anakupinga hakuna nguvu yoyote duniani inayoweza kukusaidia. Na ikiwa unaona njia unayoiendea imefungwa, huwezi kupita, mafanikio hakuna, jihoji, jichunguze, pengine ni kwa sababu u miongoni mwa wale wenye kiburi - kwamba utashi wako hauendani na Mungu, hujajinyenyekeza kuyatenda mapenzi yake. Ikifika hapo, kilichobaki ni wewe kujinyenyekeza kwake. Na pale unapojinyenyekeza kwake, Yeye ambaye hapo awali alikuwa anakupinga na kukuzingira usisogee, anakuwa msaidizi wako na mlango wako wa kupita.
Huwezi kupingana na mkono hodari wa Mungu, ukashinda. Ila akiwa upande wako, utayaweza yote. Angalia sana, usishindane na Mungu wakati nia yake ni kuwa rafiki yako mpenzi wa kweli.
