TUESDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2016 MORNING
John 18:36-37 New International Version (NIV)
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He has all authority and the World is His. But He is not an earthly ruler. Some of the Jews hoped that Jesus would rescue them from the Roman colonial rulers and set up His kingdom on earth but they misunderstood His message. Jesus’s Kingdom is spiritual and eternal. He is not an earthly ruler.

YOHANA 18:36-37
36 Yesu akajibu, Ufalme wangu sio wa ulimwengu huu. Kama ufalme wangu ungekuwa wa ulimwengu huu, watumishi wangu wangenipigania, nisije nikatiwa mikononi mwa Wayahudi. Lakini ufalme wangu sio wa hapa.
37 Basi Pilato akamwambia, Wewe u mfalme basi? Yesu akajibu, Wewe wasema, kwa kuwa mimi ni mfalme. Mimi nimezaliwa kwa ajili ya haya, na kwa ajili ya haya mimi nalikuja ulimwenguni, ili niishuhudie kweli. Kila aliye wa hiyo kweli hunisikia sauti yangu.
Yesu ni Mfalme wa Wafalme na ana mamlaka yote. Yeye aliumba ulimwengu na ni wake. Lakini Ufalme wa Yesu Kristo siyo wa hapa duniani. Baadhi ya Wayahudi waliwaza kwamba Yesu atawaokoa kutoka utawala wa ukoloni wa Warumi. Hawakuelewa kwamba Ufalme wake ni wa mbinguni.
