TUESDAY 11TH AUGUST 2020 MORNING
Matthew 5:33-37 New International Version (NIV)
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.[g]
God is righteous because that is his nature. He remains faithful to Himself and therefore to us, even in the face of our unfaithfulness. Jesus wants us to live by reflecting the nature of God. He is calling us to be faithful in whatever we say and Promise.

MATHAYO 5:33-37
33 Tena mmesikia watu wa kale walivyoambiwa, Usiape uongo, ila mtimizie Bwana nyapo zako;
34 lakini mimi nawaambia, Usiape kabisa; hata kwa mbingu, kwa maana ndicho kiti cha enzi cha Mungu;
35 wala kwa nchi, kwa maana ndiyo pa kuwekea miguu yake; wala kwa Yerusalemu, kwa maana ndio mji wa Mfalme mkuu.
36 Wala usiape kwa kichwa chako, maana huwezi kufanya unywele mmoja kuwa mweupe au mweusi.
37 Bali maneno yenu yawe Ndiyo, ndiyo; Siyo, siyo; kwa kuwa yazidiyo hayo yatoka kwa yule mwovu.
Mungu ni mwenye haki kwa sababu hiyo ndiyo asili yake. Yeye anabaki kuwa mwaminifu kwa ahadi zake na hivyo kwetu pia, hata pale tunapokosa uaminifu. Yesu Kristo anataka tuishi kwa kufuata asili ya Mungu. Anatuita kuwa waaminifu kwa kila tusemalo na kuahidi.
