SUNDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER CHILDREN’S DAY. THEME: LET US LOVE AND CARE FOR OUR CHILDREN

Psalm 103:8-13, 2 John 1:4-5, Matthew 18:1-10

Psalm 103:8-13 New International Version (NIV)

The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

2 John 4-5 New International Version (NIV)

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.

Matthew 18:1-10 New International Version (NIV)

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Causing to Stumble

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

The Parable of the Wandering Sheep

10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

Today is the special service which we hold every year concentrating on children. Children from the Sunday School will present special songs and memory verses in our services.

Jesus valued children and so should we. We can learn from children. Jesus wants us to be humble and trusting and honest like children.  Let us be a good example to children whom we know and do our best to lead them to Christ.  We need to care well for children and young people because they represent the future of the church.

JUMAPILI TAREHE 30 SEPTEMBA 2018, SIKUKUU YA WATOTO

WAZO KUU: TUWAPENDE NA KUWATUNZA WATOTO WETU

Zaburi 103:8-13, 2 Yohana 1:4-5, Mathayo 18:1-10

Zaburi 103:8-13

Na ye yote atakayempokea mtoto mmoja mfano wa huyu kwa jina langu, anipokea mimi;

Watoto wana sifa ambayo tunapaswa kuiga.
