Psalm 89:11-14 New International Version (NIV)
11 The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth;
you founded the world and all that is in it.
12 You created the north and the south;
Tabor and Hermon sing for joy at your name.
13 Your arm is endowed with power;
your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
Isaiah 40:26
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.
Genesis 2:15
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Adam was put in the Garden of Eden to care for it . We also read in Genesis 1: 26-28 that God made mankind, both Men and women in His image and gave us responsibility to rule over creation.
We hear a lot about Global warming and pollution. We experience extreme heat, floods, drought, storms, hurricanes and other extremes of weather. Let us think about the responsibilities which God has given us to care for His creation. Let us think what we can do as individuals and as a church to take care of the creation. This is part of our responsibility before God.

Zaburi 89:11-14
11 Mbingu ni mali yako, nchi nayo ni mali yako, Ulimwengu na vyote viujazavyo Ndiwe uliyeupiga msingi wake.
12 Kaskazini na kusini ndiwe uliyeziumba, Tabori na Hermoni hulifurahia jina lako.
13 Mkono wako ni mkono wenye uweza, Mkono wako una nguvu, Mkono wako wa kuume umetukuka.
14 Haki na hukumu ndio msingi wa kiti chako, Fadhili na kweli zahudhuria mbele za uso wako.
Isaya 40:26
26 Inueni macho yenu juu, mkaone; ni nani aliyeziumba hizi; aletaye nje jeshi lao kwa hesabu; aziita zote kwa majina; kwa ukuu wa uweza wake, na kwa kuwa yeye ni hodari kwa nguvu zake; hapana moja isiyokuwapo mahali pake.
Mwanzo 2:15
15 Bwana Mungu akamtwaa huyo mtu, akamweka katika bustani ya Edeni, ailime na kuitunza.
Mungu alimpa Adamu wajibu kutunza Bustani ya Edeni. Pia tukisoma Mwanzo 1:26-28 tutuaona kwamba binadamu, Wanaume na wanawake wote tumeumba kwa mfano wa Mungu na tumepewa wajibu kutawala uumbaji.
Je! Tumetunza vizuri uumbaji? Tunasikia habari za uharibifu wa mzingira. Hali ya hewa imebadilika. Tunapata mafuriko, ukame, uchafuzi wa mito na bahari, tetemeko la ardhi na shida mbalimbali. Shida nyingi zimesababishwa na kazi za binadamu. Ni wajibu wetu kutunza uumbaji wa Mungu. Mungu atusaidie kujua jinsi ya kufanya na kutekeleza ipasavyo.
