29 O land, land, land,
hear the word of the Lord!
Today we have only one verse which urges the land, or the people of the nation to hear God’s Word. This verse comes in the middle of a passage which pronounces God’s judgement upon King Jehoakim of Judah. Jehoakim was son of Josaih who was a good King who encouraged the people to worship God. But Jehoakim was evil and that is why God pronounced judgement upon him.
Let us be prepared to heed God’s warnings in the Bible and change our behavior when necessary.

29 Ee nchi, nchi, nchi, lisikie neno la Bwana.
Leo tumepewa msatari mmoja tu. Mstari huu unasisitiza nchi, au watu wake, wasikiliza Neno la Bwana. Ujumbe huu ni katika mistari inayoelezea hukumu ya Mungu juu ya Mfalme Yehoyakimu wa Yuda. Baba yake Mfalme Yosia alikuwa mzuri na aliongoza watu kumwabudu na kumtii Mungu. Lakini Mfalme Yehoyakimu alifanya maovu na ndio sababu Mungu alimhukumu.
Tuwe tayari kusoma Biblia na kuonywa wakati tumetenda dhambi. Mungu atusaidie tuwe tayari kutubu dhambi na kubadilisha mwenendo wetu.
