Matthew 24:29-31 New International Version (NIV)
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[a]
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[b] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[c] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Our passage this morning is very similar to that of yesterday morning. These are parallel passages from different gospels. Each Gospel has distinctive features and each author emphasizes slightly different aspects of Jesus’ ministry. When we see the same messages repeated in more than one Gospel we need to take note. This is a very important message which God wants us to hear and understand.
Jesus will come again in Glory to judge the living and the dead. Will you be ready when He comes? Examine your life today. Are you trusting in Jesus as your Lord and savior and living to honour Him every day? Or do you think you can get to heaven by your own efforts?

MATHAYO 24:29-31
29 Lakini mara, baada ya dhiki ya siku zile, jua litatiwa giza, na mwezi hautatoa mwanga wake, na nyota zitaanguka mbinguni, na nguvu za mbinguni zitatikisika;
30 ndipo itakapoonekana ishara yake Mwana wa Adamu mbinguni; ndipo mataifa yote ya ulimwengu watakapoomboleza, nao watamwona Mwana wa Adamu akija juu ya mawingu ya mbinguni pamoja na nguvu na utukufu mwingi.
31 Naye atawatuma malaika zake pamoja na sauti kuu ya parapanda, nao watawakusanya wateule wake toka pepo nne, toka mwisho huu wa mbingu mpaka mwisho huu.
Somo la leo linafanana sana na lile la jana kutoka Injili ya Marko. Kila injili ina mikazo tofauti kidogo. Lakini ukiona somo ambalo linarudiwa katika Injili zaidi ya moja jua Mungu ana ujumbe muhimu sana ambao anataka uelewe.
Kwa hakika Yesu Kristo atarudi tena duniani kwa utukufu kuwahukumu walio hai na wafu. Je! Utakuwa tayari akija? Unamtegemea Yesu Kristo kama Bwana na Mwokozi wako na unaishi maisha ya kumpendeza? Au unafikiri utafika mbinguni kwa nguvu zako mwenyewe? Chunguza maisha yako leo. Usichelewe, uhakikishe uko na Yesu.
