MONDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2017 MORNING
Daniel 4:34-37 New International Version (NIV)
34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.
His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.
35 All the peoples of the earth
are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: “What have you done?”
36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
Nebuchadnezzar had been a proud and boastful king. God punished him for this by making him temporarily mad. However God later restored his sanity as we see in the above passage. The Nebuchadnezzar began to give God the honor and praise which he deserves.
Let us be humble and give all the glory to God. We cannot achieve anything worthwhile by our own efforts. Let us trust in God.

34 Hata mwisho wa siku hizo, mimi, Nebukadreza, nikainua macho yangu kuelekea mbingu, fahamu zangu zikanirudia; nikamhimidi Yeye aliye juu, nikamsifu na kumheshimu Yeye aishiye milele; kwa maana mamlaka yake ni mamlaka ya milele, na ufalme wake hudumu toka kizazi hata kizazi;
35 na watu wote wanaokaa duniani wamehesabiwa kuwa si kitu, naye hufanya kama atakavyo, katika jeshi la mbinguni, na katika hao wanaokaa duniani; wala hapana awezaye kuuzuia mkono wake, wala kumwuliza, Unafanya nini wewe?
36 Basi wakati uo huo fahamu zangu zikanirudia, na kwa ajili ya utukufu wa ufalme wangu, enzi yangu na fahari yangu zikanirudia; na mawaziri wangu, na madiwani wangu, wakaja kunitafuta; nami nikathibitika katika ufalme wangu, nikaongezewa enzi kupita kiasi.
37 Basi mimi, Nebukadreza, namhimidi Mfalme wa mbinguni, namtukuza na kumheshimu; maana matendo yake yote ni kweli, na njia zake ni za adili; na wale waendao kwa kutakabari, yeye aweza kuwadhili.
Mfalme Nebukadreza alikuwa na kiburi. Alijivunia na kuringa kwa mafanikio yake. Mungu alimwadhibu kwa kumpa kichaa cha muda. Baadaye amepewa tena akili timamu kama ilivyoandikwa hapo juu. Baada ya hapo Mfalme Nebukadreza alikiri Mungu ni mkuu, na alimsifu Mungu.
Tusiwe na kiburi. Tumheshimu na kumtukuza Mungu. Tukiri kwamba hatufanikiwi bila msaada wa Mungu. Tumtii na tumtegemee Mungu.
