1 Yohana 2:1-6
1 Watoto wangu wadogo, nawaandikia haya ili kwamba msitende dhambi. Na kama mtu akitenda dhambi tunaye Mwombezi kwa Baba, Yesu Kristo mwenye haki,
2 naye ndiye kipatanisho kwa dhambi zetu; wala si kwa dhambi zetu tu, bali na kwa dhambi za ulimwengu wote.
3 Na katika hili twajua ya kuwa tumemjua yeye, ikiwa tunashika amri zake.
4 Yeye asemaye, Nimemjua, wala hazishiki amri zake, ni mwongo, wala kweli haimo ndani yake.
5 Lakini yeye alishikaye neno lake, katika huyo upendo wa Mungu umekamilika kweli kweli. Katika hili twajua ya kuwa tumo ndani yake.
6 Yeye asemaye ya kuwa anakaa ndani yake, imempasa kuenenda mwenyewe vile vile kama yeye alivyoenenda.
Tuwapende na kuwajali watoto;
Yohana katika waraka wake anaandika kuhusu kutotenda dhambi, na ikiwa tumetenda dhambi, yupo Kristo aliye mpatanishi wetu. Yohana analiita Kanisa kuzishika amri za Mungu bila unafiki. Anakazia kuwa upendo wa Mungu unakamilika kwa kulishika neno lake.
Tunaitwa kuwafundisha watoto wetu njia za haki, yaani walishike neno la Mungu ili upendo wa Mungu udhihirike kwao. Tuhakikishe watoto wetu wanaijua kweli yake, ili wakue katika imani, na hivi tunalijenga Kanisa la Mungu.

1 John 2:1-6 (NIV)
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Love and Hatred for Fellow Believers
3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
Let us love and care for children;
John in his epistle writes about not sinning, and if we have sinned, there is Christ our mediator. John calls the Church to keep God's commandments without hypocrisy. He emphasizes that God's love is perfected by keeping his word.
We are called to teach our children the ways of righteousness, that is, to keep the word of God so that the love of God may be manifested in them. Make sure our children know the truth, so that they can grow in faith, and thus build up the Church of God.
