ALHAMISI TAREHE 13 JUNI 2021

Siku ya kukumbuka kupaa kwa Yesu.

Masomo; Zab 68:17-20; 1 Tim 3:14-16; *Mk 16:19-20

Marko 16:19-20

Kristo amepaa katika Utukufu wake;

Yesu alikwenda wapi?

Kama tulivyosoma, alichukuliwa mbinguni akaketi mkono wa kuume wa Mungu. Alirudi katika Utukufu aliokuwa nao kabla hajaja duniani kama Mpatanishi na Mwokozi. Huko hukaa hata leo, akiendelea kuwapokea wote wamjiao na kuwaokoa;

Katika huduma yetu ni muhimu kuzingatia;

Mwisho;

Kama tukirivyo katika ukiri wa Imani;

Day to commemorate the ascension of Jesus.

Mark 16:19-20

New International Version

19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Christ has ascended into His Glory;

Today's lesson is the conclusion of the Gospel of Mark. In short, it is how Jesus finished his earthly ministry. The lesson tells us where Jesus went, when He left and how He ascended back to heaven. The lesson also shows us the work that the students did after their leader left them.

Where did Jesus go?

As we read, he was taken up to heaven and sat at the right hand of God. He returned to the Glory He had before He came to earth as Mediator and Saviour. He remains there today, continuing to receive all who come to him and to save them;

Hebrews 7:25; Therefore he is able to save completely[a] those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Until then there is comfort for believers, who live in this world. The difficulties and sufferings are too many, and failures as well. But there is true comfort, which is Jesus Christ living to this day. So the ascension of Jesus is not that He left us, but works forever for us.

We must realize that Jesus 'ascension marked the end of Jesus' earthly ministry as a true Man and God. He worked to bring about complete salvation. That is, until Jesus ascended, He left a message of self-sufficiency in salvation. This is where Jesus sends us to do His work, to further the mission of saving His people. Are we fulfilling this responsibility?

As we read, his disciples accomplished that. They went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them. What is our role in this? Are we as the Church of God doing this missionary work to the fullest? Here I want to show that the ascension of Jesus was a sign to send us on a mission.

In our ministry it is important to consider;

-We must have His blessings in our life and ministry in general as Jesus blessed us.

-We worship Him before and after His works. That is, let us worship Him at all times.

The disciples went on for over 40 days to be with the risen Christ meditating on the ascension of a new perspective on the Glory of God. All true believers have the understanding to see the Glory of God in Christ Jesus. When we see the Glory of God in the risen and ascended Jesus, let us be filled with worship, joy and thanksgiving to God for mercy. If you still lack these things, ask Jesus to fulfil the desire of your heart. Seek him out relentlessly.

Finally;

As we confess in the confession of Faith;

"... On the third day he rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, and from there he will come to judge the living and the dead ..."

Let us celebrate and remember the ascension of Jesus knowing that Jesus will return again. So you have a responsibility to prepare yourself so that when Jesus returns you will not be left behind.
